The guys on the crew were fine college kids, standup comedians, and a lot of fun.  We dated some local girls who were wonderful ladies.

We were loaned a boat and skis by a guy staying at the barracks.

At 15 hp, the ski rig was underpowered for my weight.  With my total lack of experience, I had some problems when my turn came. Mont-054-7x10.jpg (88145 bytes)
We tried pulling me up from the water, followed by jumping off the dock.  Then the other engineering marvels calculated that I could be pulled if the boat got up a full head of steam and I was yanked off the diving board.

But their calculations were off. Mont-056-7x10.jpg (55841 bytes)
But it was fun trying. Mont-058-7x10.jpg (84563 bytes)
The following weekend, we tried it again, and the boat was able to pull me up after all. Mont-059-7x10.jpg (55901 bytes)
Didn't know who these adorable little kids were, but they were so cute I had to take their picture.  They'd be 65-67 years old now. Mont-060-7x10.jpg (64622 bytes)
A survey group Sunday outing including our boss, boss's wife and baby.  This is Crystal Lake behind Happy's Inn south of Libby.

Our crew went skinny dipping here one dark night.  They had an offshore floating dock and diving board.  What fun!!!  Then a car showed up and we had to stay in the water until one of us could sneak out and drive our car down next to the water, blocking the view of us escaping.
