Montezuma's Well between Sedona and Phoenix.   This is about a 135º panoramic view.

Double click to enlarge.

Dwelling on the side of the well ... or sink hole.
Some 5 miles south of the well is "Montezuma's Castle".

In Phoenix we stayed at a  "secure" Motel 6.  Note the concertina wire on the fence.

(Actually, the wire was around the next door parking lot with work trucks containing valuable tools.)

The next morning the policeman was checking all vehicles.
Betty came out where I was taking pictures saying "Are you in trouble again"?
And that got the policeman laughing.
"Hey Betty, I want a picture of him patting you down with the Motel 6 sign in the background."
The policeman was giggling and got in his car and left.
We found Phoenix pollution to be very high.   We traveled 50 miles west before it cleared up.

In the southwest corner of Arizona going over a mountain range.   We're about 5 miles north of the Mexico border.

The mighty Colorado river separating Arizona and California was but a toxic looking green stream when we went over it.

My San Diego meeting is over.  Took only 6 hours for the meeting, so Betty and I took off for the famed "Old Town Mexican Cafe".

We ate at this restaurant because Rachel Ray of the TV show said she ate there.  And the meal was excellent.  We went early to avoid the crowd.  It began getting packed just as we were leaving.

Then we saw the sprawling, beautiful Balboa Park that evening.

(These two are borrowed pictures.  I didn't have my camera with me).
Next day.

Ocean view at LaJolla, California, a short distance above San Diego.

Betty enjoying the ocean.
Swim and beach access at LaJolla

Betty had been watching these guys for some time.  They launched about a mile from here, swam, snorkled, and drifted near a group of fishing boats, and beached here.
They were tangled in the seaweed and knocked about by the wave action.
They looked up to see why Betty and I were laughing so hard.

This guy came over some time later and visited.  I sent their pictures to them by e-mail.

Down the beach a ways.  Still in LaJolla.
This is Seaport Village, a nice shopping center near Old Town, San Diego.
More Seaport Village.
A small park near Seaport Village.

Found Uncle Eddy's RV from National Lampoon, but he's not home.

Driving from San Diego to  Casa Grande, AZ, the moon was beautiful against a darkening blue sky past sunset.   Didn't turn out too well since the car was moving, but it still captures somewhat how beautiful it was.
